Hello Owlstowners,

What’s New
Faster Pages
I just added page caching to Owlstown websites, so now your webpages will load even faster. Faster webpages mean that your website visitors will less likely leave before your webpages load.
Fun fact: did you know that 53% of mobile website visitors will leave if a webpage doesn’t load within three seconds (source)?
Academic Website Contest
Brittany Trinh, Jennifer van Alstyne, and I are organizing the Best Personal Academic Website Contest again for 2023. Submit your academic website to enter.
Zoom Live Event
As part of the contest, we’re hosting a live event on Zoom on Aug 1 at 9 PM EST (register here). I will demonstrate how to start an academic website using Owlstown, then we’ll have a fireside chat to discuss frequently asked questions about making academic websites.
Hello Threads
I just set up a Threads account. If you have a Threads account, follow me at @owlstown. I’ll be posting updates about Owlstown on both Threads and Twitter.
